The Staff
The main job of the staff is to ensure that the site runs smoothly. I've been very selective in choosing people that I thought would help to accomplish that. Please understand that, while we aren't actively looking to hurt anyone's feelings, it could happen. That isn't to say we aren't a friendly bunch, but if you have an idea in the suggestions thread for example that is turned down, giving an attitude for that will not help you. If you feel that you can politely argue your point, then feel free to do so.
Also try to keep in mind that we are roleplayers just like you. We also have other priorities in life outside of running a roleplay forum, just like you. So PLEASE be patient. Think twice about constantly PMing a staff member for an answer to a question, or anything else you might need. We will get to it when we can.
Warnings & Rule Enforcement
The warnings system will work on a strike system, though won't be so harsh as to only give you three.. and warning levels will be lowered after time spent going incident-free. -FIVE- warnings accumulated in too short a timeframe will result in a temporary ban, lasting a week. Being temp-banned too frequently will result in Death(Ban/Removal). Bans will be discussed among all staff, so there will be no worries over bias or grudge.. We all just want a fun and friendly environment, so let's behave, shall we?
Warning - 5 before Temp-Ban.
Temporary Ban - 5 more warnings before Death.
Death - You're done here, and obviously earned it.
Don't Start Trouble
If you came here to cause trouble, just close the window right now. We. Don't. Want. It. What is defined as trouble, you ask? Pretty much what you would expect. Trolling, harassing other roleplayers is just not going to be tolerated. You will only be warned so many times before action is taken. The staff doesn't play favorites and warnings -will- be given when necessary.
OOC Fighting
Is NOT welcome here. This goes hand in hand with starting trouble. If you have an issue with another person here outside of roleplay, and want to start drama with them, do it somewhere else. And we can tell the difference between something that is lighthearted and something that isn't. Leave the drama at the door people.
Spamming
No. Never. Don't do it. Punishable by Death(Ban/Removal). If you came here to clutter our forum with irrelevant nonsense and bullshit, we simply don't want you here. This doesn't necessarily include putting up links to, say, another roleplay forum. This is called advertising. HOWEVER, if you want to advertise you must get an okay from an admin first. And it goes without saying that a reciprocal ad must be placed on the other board.
Literate Roleplay
Nobody is expecting you to put out pages upon pages of posts. We understand that not everyone is an amazing writer, and this forum is designed for all experience levels. However, an understanding of English is kind of required. Sort of goes without saying. People make mistakes, I understand, but the forum DOES have a spell checker, so it really shouldn't be an excuse. That said, nobody is going to jump on you for a single spelling error but please, please make an effort here.
Starting/Joining Roleplays
Refer to the topic 'Roleplaying Guidelines' but always ask if you want to join a preexsisting RP, butting in is terrible forum manners and will likely just get your posts removed and eventually earn you a warning
Activity
Like I mentioned before, we understand that you all have lives outside of the internet, just like we hope you understand that we do as well. We do, however, want our members to remain as active as they can. If for any reason this isn't possible for an extended period of time, post in the Absences board so people know. That's..what its there for, after all.
Role-playing Basics
No Godmodding characters. No attacks that could level entire cities, slaughter whole armies, wipe out other heroes in the blink of an eye, etc. NONE. If you are attacking someone, do not hit them directly or inflict a fatal wound. Either wait and see what they are going to do or discuss the fight plan ahead of time. If addressing more than one character at a given location, either specify who you are talking to or use color coding to represent the other character. Colors should be discussed ahead of time. Stay within the selected genre. No running around with guns in a medieval environment. Too many complaints and/or offenses and you'll end up being Warned and TB'd(Refer to 'Warning')
