Background:
(There may be conflicting bio's as there are characters that are used across several timelines. This is simply the most recent storyline that this character has been involved in. This may not apply for other characters mentioned.)
Born during the rise of the fledging Holy Cornealian Empire, Maedhros was born to Marcus Constantine and Theodora Flavius, two minor nobles at the time. For the early parts of his life, he was raised by his mother as his father tended to ignore the two, instead placing his entire attention on maintaining his new Empire. When he turned sixteen, Maedhros was taken by his father to learn politics and was instead thrust straight into a war zone at the head of a small army. Theodora, having attempted to appeal for his safe return, later died alone of grief. Rather than fear what his mother had, Maedhros enjoyed his three year campaign in Osea, learning the trade of soldiering and logistics. His lack of control and experience at the time however, led him to raze the entire enemy nation to the ground. Many atrocities occurred, which returned to haunt him in his later years. He spent the next two years journeying, attempting to establish diplomatic contact with nations that had previously declared war on his homeland. None were successful as no ruler trusted his father or his regime.
Maedhros' next adventure brought him to the city of Langoto, which greatly altered the next decade or so of his life. There he met a local noblewoman, by the name of Rei Vivica, who was an avid collector of vintage wines as he was. What turned out to be a minor dispute over a casket of wine, with the addition of the King of Siek attempting to have him killed, blossomed into an all out war. The Prince was forced to flee, being outnumbered and out gunned, but returned with a massive fleet and army. It was during this campaign that the legend of invincible legions led by a foreign Prince began to build. Still, his reputation still developed as that of a murderer and a tyrant. The conflict with Rei would drag on for years to come. An underground war began to rage, as operatives and agents of both sides slaughtered each other in numerous engagements. It was during a battle with Rei that Maedhros sustained near-mortal injuries, causing him to restrict physical activity with his right arm.
They encountered one another again at the Cornealian city of Palacon, and though Maedhros was able to withstand the initial attack from Rei, a new threat drew his attention away north, allowing the daemon's forces to siege and burn the city to the ground, killing all inside. However, Vivica did not end her reign of terror on the Prince there. Seeking to build her own empire, she roused the fierce some Kazani tribes into assaulting the colonial holdings of Cornealia. In a war that lasted nearly a year, dozens of cities and settlements were sacked and ravaged by the invading nomads. They crushed the seemingly invincible Cornealian armies, drove Maedhros into a guerrilla war movement, and slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Cornealian citizens in their ruthless assault. Only when an aid force from his homeland arrive did he finally stop the assault. However he lost that force too and was forced to return home to answer for his failures. He was twenty four at this time.
What occurred that day in Himring, there are little accounts, but Maedhros returned to Terria to finish his quarrel with Rei with a new heart. He met her at her regional capital of Fermis, the citizens of whom did not react kindly to his visit. Cut off from his personal guard, who were all slaughtered by Rei's daughter, he was set upon by Vivica herself, along with many of her henchmen. However, it served to be a trap as yet a third Cornealian army under his command were able to sneak close enough to the city and assault it. This timely save was only guaranteed by his use of his Battle Meditation technique and the resulting battle saw Fermis razed to the ground and its many daemon controlled populace put to the sword. Maedhros pursued Rei deep into her own lands, and destroyed her citadel in a furious battle. Though the Prince emerged victorious and the daemonic spawned lands were all but destroyed, neither the body of Rei or her daughter were recovered, leading the Prince to believe that they had both survived and were plotting their revenge.
The following year, Isis Constantine, the daughter of Maedhros was born and he presented her before his father. Marcus Constantine, having ruled for 31 years, allowed his son to succeed him as the Second Emperor of the Holy Cornealian Empire. Though his reign proved to be peaceful and stable, his constant fear of Rei's return led to an entire overhaul of the military, effectively reducing operational numbers by half while increasing the effectiveness of the standard soldier. The concept of the Legion was abandoned and replaced by a newer professional army. For twenty five years Maedhros watched and waited for her return, but it did not occur while he lived, and died peacefully of old age.
