Brief History
The witch has travelled over many paths, encountered numerous individuals and cultures, and over time her distaste for humanity has developed into an almost full scale hatred for people and the rule of law. Anarchy is the name of the game with Ezra, though she was not always like this. Hers is a long life filled with what one might expect. Good times, bad times, pleasure and despair, gain and loss. But what caused her to take the path she now walks?
Amidst the Sands
Ezra was born to the remnants of an ancient desert tribe, wanderers of the scorched earth who practiced a very special magical technique. It was known nowhere else in the world and it granted the user power over the unconscious mind. They were called the Dreamwalkers. They were a reclusive group, almost bordering on xenophobic, with only a few of its members allowed to venture into the outside world to retrieve necessary supplies. The tribe believed in a peaceful existence, and were willing to aid outsiders in what ways they could, especially when it came to the use of their gift. Healing the troubled minds of others, for example.
Walking among the dreams of others had many benevolent uses, and there were reasons why some would seek the tribe out. The tribe was accepting of outsiders to a point however, it was forbidden to teach any of them the use of Dreamwalking. Though benevolent uses were practiced, it was possible that the technique could be twisted to manipulate dreams into fearful, nightmarish experiences. To manipulate dreams and cause harm to others, this was forbidden and the tribe feared that the technique would be used in such a way if if ever was taught to the outside world.
