Mankind's Days are Numbered.
Between the Forian invasion and the outbreak of a bizarre, deadly virus, Mankind has been all but eradicated. Three weeks before humanity could test their very first hyperdrive, four alien cruisers appeared out of warp-space and incinerated the Space Station that the test was to be monitored from. They proceeded to locate and destroy all human spacecraft, effectively crippling any chance of reprisal. These aliens, the Forians, launched a full scale invasion, attacking from strategic landing points across the planet, the largest of which was a forest in the United States. For the first three years, the Humans held their own against the far-advanced alien forces, but the Aliens, now desperate, released a superweapon. This superweapon was a deadly virus, engineered to exterminate entire species. The Forians themselves had engineered it so that they'd be immune to the virus, but what they didn't expect was that the human immune system would fight it. When the virus first struck, humans generally died within a few hours, but over the next few months, though many died in the process, the human immune system corrupted the virus, mutating it into something far worse than even the Forians had intended. Instead of killing it's victims, the virus hijacked their nervous system. The nervous system would be tricked into giving the body's systems certain commands- the development of advanced muscular structure, increased aggressiveness, and thicker bones... To feed these developments, the body would need special nutrients... nutrients best provided by the flesh of living things, including humans and Forians. Even worse, the mutation of the virus made it contagious to Forians, causing their already genetically-strengthened bodies to mutate. The Forians had engineered not only the doom of the humans, but their own as well. The infected, affectionately referred to as The Crazed by humans and Forians alike, would swarm fortifications, ignoring pain, moving like juggernauts, not stopping until their body was completely destroyed.
It took two weeks for half of the remaining humans and Forians to either die, or be consumed by the virus. The Forians and Humans even signed a treaty, in hopes that together they could defeat the virus, or at least outlast it. They were wrong. Their base of Operations in Toronto was overwhelmed two months after the formation of their alliance, eliminating the leadership of the survivors. Scattered and broken, the humans live in small groups, moving from place to place, fighting for survival and scavenging for weapons and ammo.
Until two weeks ago. The Forians lost contact with their motherships towards the beginning of the Virus' outbreak, and assumed that something had drawn them away, but, for some reason, two weeks ago a Forian Mega-Cruiser crash-landed in the Rocky Mts, right on top of a massive, abandoned U.S. military installation. Surviving humans have gathered together, and are planning to send an expedition to the ship.
They hope to find a Cure.
Okies~! Roleplayers will create a human survivor with a background of their choice~! Weapons and Technologies are a bit higher than they are now, but not by much. People familiar with CoD:MW 1&2 will have an advantage when it comes to choosing weapons and equipment. Due to the fact that the canisters filled with the virus were originally deployed atop military installations or bases, so most heavy equipment, such as ICBMs, Tanks, Gunships, Jets, etc., were abandoned in the panic to evacuate, so access to these items is extremely limited. Roads are often packed with abandoned cars, so regular civilian vehicles generally are useless. However, makeshift vehicles, such as Technicals and road clearers (large trucks/buses with rigged plow-blades on the front) are commonplace.
Restriction: Try to avoid going to overboard with your equipment... i mean, how likely is it that a soldier fully decked out with a flack jacket, several grenades, and a rocket launcher, still has all that equipment?
